The expected: Lebron put up normal superstar numbers with a line of 28, 11 boards and 7 dishes. Also add in an extra 2 steals and 1 block for some frosting on that cake
The surprising: Jason Richardson finishing with 38 points. While it is never a stretch for someone with his skill to drop that many. My hat still goes off to you for this monster game. Too bad it wasn't enough for a W.
The disappointing: Cassell, going for only 6 points in a loss to the Cavs. Going 3 for 9 in FG's and adding 3 turnovers. Maybe trying just a little too hard to get that buy out from the Clips.
The once over
First things first. I am a Raps lover. So naturally that would make me a Vince hater, which makes disliking the Nets very easy. Good thing JC* came and rescued us from a certain hell (*insert Jerry Colangelo or Jesus Christ)
The odds and ends
Nets
Jefferson posts a cool 23, Nachbar comes off the bench with 16. Unfortunately you need more than 5 points out of J. Kidd. Unless he is going to double his assists mark, then he needs to be getting double digits in points.
Hawks
Childress comes in strong off the bench going for 23, adding 6 boards and 4 helpers.
Williams and Smith go for 24 an 23. Always a good sign when you got 3 guys in the mid 20's range for points. Smith also goes for 3 blocks.
Magic
Howard of course gets another double double. Adding 24 points to the mix.
Turkoglu trying to make people regret him not being an all-star goes for 23. I want to see him go for 35 or something before All-star weekend hits. To make talk of 'should-be' go to 'how-can-he-not-be'.
Pacers
This young crew sees their young guns getting stronger. Granger goes for 29 points and leads the way for the night. Murphy had a nice night off the bench with 17 points, 6 boards in just 20 min.
Clippers
Thorton is coming along nicely, going for 23 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. The most notable thing you see off of the Clippers boxscore is the big DNP beside Maggette, Brand, Kaman, Livingston. I guess it is just the curse of being a Clip.
Cavs
Besides King James being his usual self it is nice to see Big Z and Gooden both getting double digits in boards. Big Z dropped 22 as well. 4 blocks too.
Grizzlies
All around this game you see people getting involved. Obviously this organization has to look for everyone to step it up. 13 people in total from this game finished with double figures in points. 7 from the Grizz. Nothing else stands out except for a ludicrous amount of turnovers (23) Miller and Gay both had 6.
Jazz
Almost everyone is getting in the action on this game. Boozer and Okur both pull down over 10 boards and Williams gets his typical line of 16 points and 11 assists. Everyone else is just sharing the ball tonight so not too many other big numbers from any one player on this night.
Rockets
McGrady comes in with a tasty 33 points, 11 boards, 6 dimes.
Yao has a decent game getting 12 points and boards.
Bucks
Bogut goes for a cool 21 and adds 4 blocks to it as well. His star keeps on shining brighter.
Villanueva, Simmons and Williams go for 14, 14, and 13.
Bobcats
Richardsons big game was already praised.
Okafor goes for 20 and grabs 18. But 101 points was not good enough on this night.
Nuggets
Kleiza's off and on production was on tonight as he goes for 23.
Iverson and Anthony drop 25 and 24. Buisness as usual. Iverson was in a giving mood as well, giving it up enough to grab 13 assists. Don't forget his sly 5 steals.
Bulls
Their woes continue for at least another night, as once again 101 points was not good enough for this night.
Gordon comes off the bench with 33. Wallace has 4 swats. Hinrich comes in second with 18 points on this night.
Kings
They get 3 players going well into the 20's, it reads like this.
Miller - 22
Martin - 26
Artest - 28
Miller also added 4 assists, 2 blocks, and o ya, 20 boards. That's a pretty sweet night.
Bibby went 1-9 shooting for 4 points. Lucky he dished out 7 and his team came away with the W, otherwise it would have been him on 'the disappointing' list.
Knicks
Lee gets 10 and 10.
Randolph gets 24 and Crawford goes for 23
Sonics
Pulling off a 1 point victory over the Knicks. The one glaring number of how the Sonics won (or how the Knicks lost) Seattle finishes with 55 rebounds to 35 for the Knicks (including 19 offensive for Sonics)
Durant drops 21 points
Wilcox gets 20 to go along with 10 boards
Collison comes off the bench to grab 12 boards for himself.
Thats it
