Jan 31/08

Not too much on the plate for last night, just four games.  Let's get to them.
The expected: Nowitzki - DAL - 31 points, 11, boards, 6 assists, 3 blocked shots
The surprising: Rondo - BOS - His line reads 14 points, 12 boards, 4 dimes.  But the surprising is 12 boards out of a PG and most notably 6 offensive boards.
The disappointing: Bryant - LAL - 11 turnovers.  Although he still posted 39, 10 boards, 5 assists, in a one point game 11 turnovers is the game.

The odds and ends:
Lakers-
Turiaf - dropping 12 is a solid night for him
K Brown - once again had an unimpressive night of 3 points, 6 boards and 3 blocked attempts

Pistons
No surprise that the Pistons are getting an even keel all around night from everyone
McDyess - 12 boards
Afflalo/Stuckey - Both scoring 10 in under 20 min work

Mavs
Bass - 10 points, 4 boards, 2 blocks, in 20 min.
Jones - Only 2 points in 23 min.  As a starter, you need more out of him in a big game like that.

Celtics
Allen/Pierce - 26 points a piece.  With KG out of the lineup, you need those kind of numbers.  But I wouldn't have expected anything less out of them.
Scalabrine - As a started logged 0 points, 0 boards in 16 min.

Cavs
Hughes - 26 points, 6 boards, 5 dimes.  With LeBron out of the lineup Hughes needed to have this kind of night, but the Cavs still fell short to the lowly Sonics.
Ilgauskas - 17 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, 3 blocks.  Solid night from the big man.

Sonics
Durant - 24 points and a solid 2 blocks out of the rookie wingman
Watson - Though unimpressive in every other column, 12 assists is always good.

Spurs
Duncan - 16 points, 17 boards, 7 assists, 2 blocks
Vaughn - 17 points.  The Spurs are always looking for big input from their 6th man.  With Ginobili taking the injured Parker's starting spot, the Spurs needed that for the W.

Suns
Nash - 8 assists. The NBA's top offense only managed to squeeze out 81 points.  Even if that is against the reigning Spurs, not good enough.  The success and the shortfalls will always be placed squarely on his shoulders.
Barbosa - 5 points.  Need more out of him in a rivalry game like this one.

That's it. Remember, stat's don't lie.
